- The BR 1822, also known as the Brenner locomotive, was purchased by the ÖBB for freight traffic on the Brenner. However, it is rarely used for this purpose and is mainly used for passenger service on corridor trains. The BR 1822 is a multi-system locomotive that can be used both in the domestic AC network and in the Italian DC network. The locomotive is designed to be powered or powered by a 9V motor, with a battery box and hidden on/off switch.
