- The Intercity Express (ICE 4) is the latest generation of Intercity Express high-speed trains with 250 km/h in long-distance traffic of Deutsche Bahn. Deutsche Bahn plans to purchase 300 columns, titled "Der Intercity-Schnellzug 4" Power-Emu-Emu, for "transport" departments for orbital long-distance passenger transport (German: EisenbahnPersonenfernverkehr). The planned electric multiple units will be manufactured by the Siemens Transportation Group from 2011. The 12-car multiple unit variant has been in service since December 2017, and the seven-car version is scheduled for delivery from December 2020. The internal designation of the train within Deutsche Bahn is Type 412.
