Designed by the architect Sostratus, this lighthouse dates back to the Ptolemaic Kingdom in the 3rd century BC and served as a beacon in the port of Alexandria. With a height of 134 meters, It was one of the tallest structures of its time and combined size with functionality to guide ships safely at night.
