  • Designed and authorized by DarthDesigner, the F-22 RAPTOR is inspired by the active fighter aircraft of the US military. It features a unique design and color scheme and offers high aesthetic and collectible value.
  • The F-22 Raptor is an American single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather combat aircraft developed for the United States Air Force (USAF). A product of the USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) program, the aircraft was designed as an air superiority fighter, but also has ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence capabilities. The prime contractor built most of the F-22's airframes and weapons systems and performed final assembly, while the program partner supplied the wings, rear fuselage, avionics integration, and training systems.
  • The aircraft first flew in 1997 and was alternately designated as the F-22 and F/A-22 before officially entering service as the F-22A in December 2005. Although the USAF originally planned to purchase a total of 750 ATFs, the program was scaled back to 187 production aircraft in 2009 due to high costs, a lack of air-to-air missions at the time of production, and the development of more affordable and versatile F-35s. The last aircraft was delivered in 2012. After a lengthy development and initial operational difficulties, the F-22 became a crucial part of the USAF's tactical air force and will remain a cornerstone of the fighter fleet until it is succeeded by the Next Generation Air Dominance manned fighter.
