- Designed and licensed by Sir Perceval.
- Basilicas were originally large, magnificent buildings that were intended for court sessions and commercial transactions (e.g. as a market hall).
- In the course of Christianization and the establishment of Christianity, the term was soon used to describe church buildings modeled on ancient basilicas, especially from the Romanesque period. In art and architecture terminology, the term basilica is only used for elongated buildings with a high central nave and low side aisles that correspond to the early Christian architectural style.
