Designed and licensed by tralux21, Erfurt Hauptbahnhof is located at the operational centre of the Thuringian Railway from Halle to Bebra and is an important hub in the German rail network. As the main station in Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia, it serves as a hub where many of the country's radial branch lines meet the long-distance network. In 2006, the station handled a total of 12.5 million passengers, an average of 34,000 passengers per day.
