Description
-
Designed and authorized by Germanrailwaybuilder. Inspired by the passenger coaches of Deutsche Bahn's high-speed trains. It accurately captures the intricate details and features of the original trains.
-
The ICE high-speed trains of the Deutsche Bahn series 406, which belong to the ICE-3 family, are the multi-system variant of the series 403. A total of seventeen examples were built. The ICE trains, including three from the Dutch railways, primarily travel to Amsterdam and Brussels, but have also been increasingly used within Germany since the ICE route to France was converted to the series 407. Each 200.84 meter long train consists of eight carriages and has been in passenger transport since 2000. With a maximum permissible speed of 330 km/h, they are the fastest passenger trains in Germany alongside the trains of the series 403. In operation, these electric multiple units typically reach speeds of up to 300 km/h in Germany. When the multiple units 4680–4685 were used on the LGV Est européenne, speeds of up to 320 km/h were regularly reached.
-
The power supply is provided by the on-board restaurant. The carriages can be coupled either with a four-fold lifting arm or an old magnetic coupling.
