The diesel locomotive BR V100 is a locomotive with diesel-hydraulic drive. The V100 series was put into service by Deutsche Bahn at the end of the 1950s and partially replaced the outdated steam locomotive series, which was replaced by electric locomotives or diesel vehicles. The diesel locomotive BR V 100 was built from 1963 to 1985 and was mainly used on non-electrified branch lines for freight and passenger transport.
The locomotive is 8 studs wide and has a length of 35 studs and a height of 13 studs. The V100 is prepared for motorization.
From 1951, the German Federal Railways purchased new coaches for express train service, including the Byl 421. In addition to front entrances, these coaches also had a central entrance with double doors and were already equipped with the rubber bulge transitions at the ends of the coaches that are common today. The maximum permissible speed for these coaches was 140 km/h.
The passenger coaches are available in 8 widths and have a length of 61 studs and a height of 13 studs.
