- The Mark II tank was the secret weapon of the British Army during World War I. The most important feature of the tank was the diamond-shaped configuration which combined the chassis and upper body into a high diamond, along with the low center of gravity and the extra-long tracks which turned the entire tank body into one big wheel, allowing the tank to roll over all barbed wire fences and trenches of all sizes.
