Description

  • Designed and authorized by count_of_brick, the cruiser is inspired by the Japanese Mogami heavy cruiser from WWII, restoring the wonderful details and design. Equipped with five triple-purpose guns.

  • Mogami was the lead ship of the four senior heavy cruisers of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It is named after the Mogami River in the Tohoku region of Japan. The top-class ships were built as "light cruisers" (under the London Naval Treaty) and armed with five triple 155 mm (6.1 in) dual-purpose guns. They were very large for a light cruiser, and the main gun turret was designed for rapid conversion to two 8 in (203 mm) guns. In 1937, all four ships were "converted" to heavy cruisers in this manner. Mogami fought in many battles during World War II until she was sunk in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944. Her design, with its extreme speed, armor protection, and heavy weaponry, became the best in the world during World War II, and was dubbed the "Most Classy Heavy Cruiser."
