Description

  • This model, designed and authorized by building.maritime, is a replica of the German F-124 in 1:485 scale.

  • The F-124 Sachsen-class is the latest generation of anti-aircraft frigates of the German Navy. The Sachsen-class is based on the design of the F-123 Brandenburg-class and has improved stealth capabilities to deceive radar and acoustic sensors. These frigates are equipped with the modern multifunctional radars APAR and SMART-L, which are capable of detecting stealth aircraft and missiles.

  • Although classified as frigates, they have capabilities equivalent to destroyers and are intended to replace the Navy's Lütjens class. In June 1996, the German government signed a contract to build three ships with an option for a fourth, initially named Thüringen, which was not exercised. The construction cost of these three ships was €2.1 billion, making it one of the German Navy's most expensive naval projects.
