- Designed and authorized by count_of_brick, based on famous warships from World War II, this model shows Blücher's configuration in 1940. All 4 turrets can be mounted rotatably so that different barrel angles can be displayed.
- The Blücher was a heavy cruiser of the Admiral Hipper class and was originally intended to be the lead ship. She was ordered by the Navy under the well-known name Kreuzer G and named after the Prussian Field Marshal Blücher.
The class was named after the second ship, the Admiral Hipper, because the construction of the Blücher was delayed and the Admiral Hipper was launched four months earlier.
- The Blücher's first combat mission during the invasion of Norway, “Operation Weserübung”, led to the total loss of the ship on April 9, 1940. The Blücher was previously released from trial use on March 30, 1940. Full combat readiness was to be declared from May 3, 1940. On April 7, 1940, the Navy High Command was informed in writing of the training deficiencies in the areas of heavy artillery, combat duty and damage control.
